Campbell just finished her first round of swimming lessons.  She has always been such a water baby and she had so much fun!  She was the youngest in her class but that didn't intimidate her.  I had so much fun watching her.

5 on Friday- Father's Day Edition

In honor of Father's Day coming up...this week's 5 on Friday is all about the 5 reasons I'm loving Robbie as my girls' father...

1.  Robbie rough-houses with the girls and they love it.  He tosses them around, flipping them over, and wrestles with them.  They laugh and giggle uncontrollably when he does this.

2.  Robbie periodically sends me texts telling me how much he misses us or is thinking about us during the day when he's at work.

3.  Robbie celebrates the girls' milestones with me and is sad when he misses them.  For example, this week Maggie took her first steps (!) while he was out running errands with Campbell and he was so sad he missed them.

4.  Every night Robbie gives the girls their bath.  They have fun together and I have a few minutes to get things ready for them to go to bed, clean the dinner mess up, sit down and take a breath, etc.

5.  Robbie gets up just as often as I do (sometimes moreso) at night with the girls if one wakes up.

5 on Friday

As always, here are 5 reasons I'm loving my girls this week:

1.  Maggie loves to point right now.  A lot of times she'll point at us and wave and it's so cute.  Here's a picture of her pointing to Robbie as he took her picture.

2.  We have been back to the waterpark at the YMCA several times and the girls love it.  It's amazing to watch Campbell be a leader among her friends and not be afraid of anything!  Maggie is getting braver and loves to crawl around the shallower part of the splashpad and dunk her face...she may or may not have been drinking the water but I was choosing to ignore that part...

3.  One day this week, Maggie was standing at one end of the couch where the dogs were sitting.  She kept pointing at them and stabbing a toy at them while saying "dog! dog!"

4.  One day this week Campbell was engrossed in a TV show on the iPad...I didn't think too much about it until I realized that it wasn't in English.  Somehow she had found a Mickey Mouse clubhouse video in Spanish and was thoroughly enjoying it.  When the show was over, I kinda expected her to say "Hola, Mami!"

Summer is here!

We have had a great kick off to our summer!  This is my favorite time of the year...heat, pool, no work (this is when I most appreciate being a teacher!).

This weekend we took two trips to our local YMCA's water park.

1st, with our friend from Columbia, Heather, and her two girls.  Her oldest, Anna, is Campbell's age (within days) and her little one, Paige, is 6 months.  All of the girls had a great time!

The next day we went with our friends and neighbors, the Popes. We are so lucky to have neighbors with kids close in age to ours and with whom we always have a great time!

And last, but not least, Campbell got a new summer 'do!

5 on Friday

As always, here are 5 reasons I'm loving my girls this week:

1.  Campbell told a fussing Maggie: "Chill!"

2.  One day this week I was wondering why most of our toy shelves were empty and many of our big toys (Maggie's push walker, her activity table, shopping cart, etc) were missing...until I went in Campbell's room. Apparently she may be a hoarder b/c it looked like at least 75% of the toys we own were in there...

3.  Maggie is becoming such a good walker when she's holding on to something...this week it was the shopping cart at Target (something her big sister enjoyed doing, too!).

 4. One night this week Robbie was reading Campbell a bedtime book when she suddenly exclaimed said "Oh my gosh, I'm late for work" and took off running out of her bedroom....huh?

5.  One night after being tucked in for the night, Campbell came out of her bedroom with her sheet over her head.  She said "You can't see me...I'm a ghost!"  Thank you Clifford the Big Red Dog book about Halloween...thank you very much.  ;)
