5 on Friday

Here are 5 reasons I'm loving my girls this week:

1. One of Robbie's soccer player's parents sent him this picture.  In his words "it pretty much sums up the season".  Isn't it hilarious?

 2.  Campbell and I used the remainder of a gift card Robbie got us for manis/pedis.  We love getting pampered and decided next time Maggie needs to come with us!

3.  Maggie looked at our nails when we got home and said "It's so pretty!" and of course wanted hers painted. When I finished hers, she pointed to Robbie's toes and said "paint them, too!"...but I didn't. ;)

4.  Campbell has been asking Robbie to take her fishing for months.  This Saturday proved to be the perfect time for their trip.  They went and bought some worms for bait, took their fishing poles, and set out for some father/daughter bonding time.  Campbell was so excited because she caught 3 fish, and pretty quickly, too!

5.  The girls have enjoyed a rare treat: 2 trips to Sweet Frog in one week! The first was to kill some time before their gymnastics performance (we had to drop Daddy off an hour and a half early to save seats!) and the other visit was on Memorial Day.  They love getting to choose all of their toppings. Campbell is in a chocolate phase right now and got chocolate ice cream both time with as many chocolate toppings I would allow (brownie, candies, sprinkles, syrup, etc) and Maggie has an eclectic taste with no rhyme or reason.  I think she just picks toppings that she thinks are pretty. When we went on Memorial Day, the girls insisted on changing into their frog shirts :).

Bonus : Check out their gymnastics hair! I forgot to put this in last week's post about their performance.  I was so proud of my handiwork and proud of the girls for sitting long enough for me to get it done!

Gymnastics performance- take 2!

If you read the 5 on Friday post yesterday, you saw that the girls' gymnastics performance this past week got cut short by a power outage.  It was re-scheduled for last night and we were so excited to finally see it!

The girls were so cute and did a great job following directions and waiting their turns (well, Maggie did as well as a 3 year old can).  We were happy to have the Grandma and Grandpa Parker and Pop join us to watch!

5 on Friday

Here are 5 reasons I'm loving my sweet girls this week:
1. The girls were supposed to have their gymnastics "performance" on Wednesday night but just as Campbell got started, the power went out throughout our city.  It has been re-scheduled but they went ahead and gave the kids their trophies.  Do these two look proud of themselves or what?  They both kept saying "I love my trophy!"

2.  Campbell's soccer season is officially over.  I think she had a little fun (although she was really happy it was their last game!).  The other parents were all very appreciative of Robbie's coaching and I think Campbell enjoyed having him be the coach.  Although she did ask him the last night "Daddy, why do all the other kids call you "Coach Robbie"?" :)

3.  We found this note in Campbell's papers from school.  Pretty sure it's her first love note...Daddy is not happy ;)

4.  Campbell's last day of preschool was today.  How can time be passing so quickly?!

The last day of school was Water Day.  We were all able to go and we had a great time!

5.  We have a church near our home that we walk to frequently to play on their playground.  On their grounds is a big hill that the girls love to roll down.  Why walk when you can roll?!

Maggie is 3!

Maggie turned 3 years old this past weekend.  Where has the time gone?  She has grown into the sweetest, most generous 3 year old I know.  She knows her own mind and doesn't hesitate to let us know what she wants.  She loves her sister and Mommy and Daddy and is becoming so much more affectionate and open with other people.  She is really smart and already knows colors, shapes, most letters and numbers, how to spell her name, and what letters her friends' names start with!

We started the day off with our family tradition: a birthday donut on the Happy Birthday plate.  Maggie has a unique way of enjoying donuts... Here is a before and after:

We had a little Princess & Superhero birthday party at our house on Saturday (totally stole the theme idea from my sister Julie!).  It was the perfect party for her.  Her friends came and played in our playroom and backyard.  The new swingset was a hit, of course! The kids also got to decorate crown and mask sugar cookies and decorate foam tiaras and masks.

One super-sweet story from our weekend:  Maggie got $3 in birthday money from her Nana and Pop.  I asked her if she'd like to put it in her piggy bank or take it to the store and buy something.  She said "I want to buy something! A special Tinkerbell balloon for Campbell."  You see, Campbell had a Tinkerbell balloon last week and she accidentally let it go.  It was very upsetting for her and apparently Maggie remembered how upset she was and wanted to make her happy by replacing it.  What 3 year old has that kind of generous spirit?!  She inspires me to be a better, more self-less person.  So, after church we went to the Dollar Tree and Maggie bought each of them a balloon.

5 on Friday

Here are 5 reasons I'm loving my beautiful girls this week:

1.  Maggie had her end of the year program at School Days last night.  It was bittersweet since it will be her last one there. She was so cute singing her songs and then playing with her friends.

2.  Campbell is getting more into this soccer stuff.  She definitely is enjoying it more and actually trying to kick the ball!

3  Maggie picked out these socks and insisted that they be pulled up high so everyone could see Hello Kitty.  She definitely has her own sense of style...

4.  Such silly girls...

 5. This one is really about Robbie.  We decided we'd like to get a wooden swingset for our backyard and figured Maggie's birthday would be the perfect time.  I really thought we'd get some of the guys that work for my dad to help Robbie assemble it but Robbie had other ideas.  He decided he could do it and got to work on it last weekend.  The kit was not assembled at all...it was a bunch of boards and easily 1,000 screws.  I would have freaked out if it was me, but not Robbie. My dad came over on Saturday and helped him get started.   He then tirelessly worked for countless hours assembling it.

 On Sunday afternoon Campbell told him "Daddy, you're working so hard!"  I think Robbie grew about two inches taller when she said that ;). He kept working and then surprised us all by finishing it Wednesday afternoon!

Isn't it awesome?!  Wednesday evening the girls were playing on it and Robbie went inside to get something.  While he was gone I told Campbell to be sure to tell her Daddy "thank you".  She must have thought I meant right then because she said "Mommy, I can't! I'm having too much fun playing!"
