Oh Christmas Bulbs . . . Oh Christmas Bulbs . . .

So today it was cold and raining, so we left the dogs indoors while we ran some errands. Well, when we came back home we found broken Christmas bulbs all over the floor. Nope, no one broke in . . . it was from our dogs. I guess they got hungry and ate the bulbs right off the tree.

The Pictures

Here's Campbell . . . her face, her tidbits, more tidbits, and her foot. As most of you know, Robbie wears a size 17, so I'm a bit worried about the size of her foot. Don't worry though, the doctor says that it looks like a "normal" size.

2 HOURS & 35 MINUTES

I ran my FIRST half marathon this weekend in Kiawah Island, SC. Prior to yesterday, the farthest I've run has been an 8K at about 50 minutes, which usually includes a few "walking breaks." In preparation for the big run, I did run 3 miles earlier last week, so I was really ready for 13.2miles. Anyway, I ran the half marathon with Sara's friend, Christy, and we did it without stopping. I know the time, 2:35, is not impressive, but you know what . . . I ran it, without having to walk , I enjoyed it (see first picture, 10.5 miles into it - we carried those oranges for about a mile knowing that they'd made a great picture), I felt great, and I finished it!!!
The other pictures: my "Rock Star" band playing Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive." The people who stayed in the house who ran. Don't be too impressed with their medals . . . we all got one for finishing. Finally, that's me, Cool Daddy-To-Be Compton!!! =)

Campbell Ann Compton

Hopefully from the picture you get the idea that we're having a girl. We went today and had our 20 week, "gender," ultrasound (we're only 19 weeks though). So to the 64% of you who voted "girl," congratulations!!! Check back tomorrow and we'll post some of the ultrasound pictures.

It's Christmas Time

We put up our tree last week and today we have our first present under it . . . . It's Folly!!! She's found her hiding spot for the next month.

The Crib

We've had a productive day. Robbie just about finished the floors in the nursery. (on a side note, after this room is complete, then we will have put hardwood floors in the complete house). Also, Nana purchased Cletus his/her crib so Robbie and Martha put it together this evening.

Week 17 . . . and counting

We had another monthly appointment and all is good! We heard another strong heartbeat so the doctor thinks that Cletus is doing great. He's having us come back in two weeks (Dec 5) for the 20 week gender ultrasound. Is Cletus a boy or a girl . . . . maybe we'll tell or maybe we won't . . .

Does that thing got a Hemi?

On Monday the 22nd, Martha and I went to the the finalist tour of Last Comic Standing. The first picture is from our seats (pretty good). We also happened to sit with Jon Reep's Father. I know you're probably saying to yourself, "Who is Jon Reep?" Does the "Hemi-Guy" sound familiar?

160 strong

On Monday we went for our monthly Cletus checkup. We were able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. The doctor found it immediately and it was a strong 160.

One a side note, people say that a high heartbeat means it's a girl. We'll find out for sure about 2 weeks after Thanksgiving.

Our little Gummy Bear

Martha made an unexpected trip to the doctor on September 27 which resulted in another ultrasound. Everything is fine and we now have a really cool picture of Cletus. Some people are saying that if you look closely at our Gummy Bear, you can see a "package." I guess in a few more weeks, we'll get this confirmed..

2.2 cm long . . . and growing

We went for our first Rock Hill OB appointment yesterday. They tried a doppler and was unable to find the heartbeat . . . however, with the handy dandy ultrasound machine, we were able to see Cletus' heartbeat and we even saw him/her wiggle!

Our next appointment is on October 21st.

Cletus the Fetus

We have some exciting news to share with the world!!! On August 21st, we received wonderful news!

Then on September 7, we had it confirmed when we went to the Doctor and and saw our baby's heartbeat.

Until we know the gender, Robbie has decided that we need to give it a name. He came up with Cletus the Fetus! Go Figure!

We go on Monday, September 24 to hear the heartbeat again. . . say a little prayer for us!

The Carowinds' Parking Lot, Makes Kids Sleep!

Matthew and Robbie enjoy a bright sunny day at Carowinds. We started our day in the pool, then the Nickelodeon Kids Zone, and our day ended with me driving and Matthew sound a sleep before we even left the parking lot. What is it about Carowinds' parking lot that makes kids want to sleep? =)

Painting the Walls

Check out a few pictures of our paining project. We're trying to get the living room, dining room, and kitchen done by Friday night. One side note, our ceilings are up to 13'5" high! The first picture shows the color (Golden Den). The second picture compares the old and new colors.

I snapped this picture of Folly having a heated conversation with someone on her bluetooth. I pity the fool who was on the other line of this conversation.

Come Meet Trash . . .

To make an extremely long story short, we needed to borrow a trailer to go help friends Michael and Rob move a desk from Family Trust Credit Union to another branch. The trailer was filled with trash so we needed to stop at the landfill to empty the trash. We pull into the transfer stations where one inmate emptied the trailer for us (because we didn't have helmets and glasses . . . note to self, don't ever take a helmet and glasses to the landfill) and the other inmate was washing the "landfill dog". It's not clear on the pic, but the dog's name was "Trash" (it's on the dog house). To wash the dog, the one guy had on work gloves . . . work gloves to wash the dog.
Well we head to FTCU to move this desk that was easily over 600lbs. After 40 minutes and moving it 6 inches, we decided it wasn't going to happen given the fact that we had to take it to a branch that only had a single door (the desk is wider than a single door) and we had to take it up two flights of stairs. Happy Birthday Michael!!!

We've floored the foyer, kitchen, dining room, living room, and hallway. This weekend, we're starting the master bedroom.

Tonight we kept our nephew and niece so their mom could go out and celebrate her birthday. Talk about an effective method of birth control!
