1. Last Spring when Robbie toured Campbell's new school, the principal explained that one of their missions is to make a difference in their community. They give out t-shirts to students (and teachers) who they see making a difference and are able to explain how they make a difference. Guess who came home wearing a new t-shirt this week? Yep, Campbell! However, apparently the part about being able to explain the t-shirt doesn't apply to kindergarteners as Campbell had no idea why she got the shirt. We talked to her teacher and she told us about how Campbell is a friend to everyone in the class, regardless of race, disability, or language. In particular, there is a little boy who does not speak English as his first language and is very shy. Campbell has gone above and beyond to try to include him in activities and play in the class and at recess with no prompting from the teachers. So proud of her!
2. Campbell came home with her first book bag from school! She was so proud to read her book to us. She wasn't thrilled that they didn't change the book every night but it is so exciting for us to hear her reading!
3. Maggie was very motivated by listening to Campbell reading her book so I pulled out some of my easy reader books and she did great! I can only hope my girls learn to love to read as much as I do!
4. We had Maggie's fall conference with her teacher, Mrs. Chamberlain, this week. She confirmed a lot of what we knew: that Maggie is super smart and a lot of fun to have in class. She was especially impressed with how motivated Maggie is to learn. She says that Maggie is very constructive and keeps busy learning all day. She also remarked at how unique Maggie's drawing of a person looks. Often as kids are learning to draw people, they draw a huge head with body parts leading from the head. Maggie is the opposite. Her people have no head and just a straight line across for arms/body.
5. Y'all know I like to dress the girls alike. I think it's cute and it sure does help me find them when we're out in public. They have recently started having opinions on it and lucky for me, they usually like it. Today I saw them laying together on the chair and thought they looked so cute. I do think it's funny when I get asked if they are twins though...
6. Robbie was able to chaperone Campbell's class field trip to the Lazy 5 Ranch. I was jealous but so happy to see all the pictures from their time together!
And our personal favorite:

The last picture cracks me up! Yay for Campbell and her t-shirt. What a sweetheart she is. I LOVE Maggie's people...so funny. And they look adorable in their matching outfits. I get asked if A and P are twins too...umm no, one is much shorter than the other.
