Campbell Update & some very sad news

It's been two months since we've seen Campbell's pediatrician. Last time we checked in with him, Campbell weighted 10lbs 6oz. Today, Campbell's weight is 13lbs 01oz. Her height today was 24 inches or 2 feet (hence . . . the picture - not Campbell's actual feet). Her head is 42cm. He's also cleared us to being stage 1 baby food with Campbell. Tomorrow, she'll be eating bananas!

As for her stats . . . for her actual age (7 months), she's less than 5% for her height and weight (I think it's actually 0%, however the charts do not go that low). For her head, she's in the 50th% percentile. For her adjusted age of 4 months, she's 50% in her height and weight . . . this is great news. She's right where she needs to be (per her adjusted age). She's following the 4 month old curve perfectly.

Now for some very sad news . . . Martha, Campbell, and I received some upsetting news this past weekend. Campbell's NICU BFF passed away this weekend.

Tulley was with Campbell in the NICU Special Care wing for several weeks until she was transferred to another hospital for surgery. We spent so much time at the NICU, and so did Tulley's mother, so we became "NICU" friends and supports for each other. Anyway, we'd appreciate happy thoughts and prayers to be sent to Tulley's mother during this tough time.

How horrible. My heart dropped when I read this. I can't imagine what she's going through. My husband lost his first child, so I know that the pain of this loss will still be with her, even many years later.

Please send my condolences and a hug.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of another special baby. I will keep them in my prayers. Also, pray for my family this week. Stanley and I will be flying to Montana, my Mother's husband, Dan,passed away and I am his personal represenative. We will be having a memorial service for him Tuesday. I will be leaving Julia with Stanley's family and I am going to miss her so much. I have never left her for this long. We will return on the 17th.

Pop and I are so sorry for the loss of your NICU friend. We will keep that family in our prayers. It makes us really pause and thank God for our time with you. We have been amazed with your progress and enjoy every milestone you pass. Keep your spirit high and enjoy that cereal and banana! You really are soooo talented to be feeding yourself. Love, Nana

What a wonderful and sad post all in one. I'm sorry to hear about Tulley's passing and we'll keep her in our prayers. It really makes you appreciate the special time you have with your little one. Congrats to Campbell on her great stats. Anna still doesn't weigh in the 50% for her age. I can't wait to hear what foods she likes...sweet potatoes are a real hit here! Watch out that those bananas don't stop her up. Peas, pears, peaches, prunes and most green things keep things working (we know from experience). :)
