Yes, you heard me . . . Campbell's a keeper. I'm not going to lie . . . for the first few night of her being home and pretty much every night when she was going through her colicky stage, I'd pick up the NICU discharge notebook and look at what the return policy was on babies.
Don't get me wrong . . . I WAS NOT looking at permanently returning her, but letting her nurses at the NICU watch her for a night (or two) didn't sound too bad. I know they were pretty pricey babysitters . . . but when nothing worked during the colicky stage, it was sure tempting.
However, it's official . . . no more thoughts of her returning to the NICU . . .Campbell's here to stay! I've even deleted the NICU number from my cell phone speed dial. So I guess you could say that the NICU and I are broken up . . . we're over!
Campbell has matured so much! I believe it was last Thursday that she slept from 7:30pm until 5am. (she hasn't repeated this yet) She's really starting to develop a personality and she's especially good at letting you know when she wants something. She's now eating real food. Today it was pears. So her list of foods that she eats (that Martha makes for her & she'll post about later this week) is avocado, acorn squash, sweet potatoes, pears, and banana. I think the acorn squash is her favorite.
Anyway, here are some pictures and a video below. The first picture is of her bath last night. The others baths from the past. We're sad to say that soon we'll have to retire that bathtub--the pint size princess is no longer quite so pint-sized! The video is also of her sleeping today. Check out her left hand as she sleeps!

We think Campbell's a keeper too! And no worries...we wondered if Anna had a return policy too. Then came the fun stage. She got past all that crazy crying and no sleeping and became fun. Here's to the baby honeymoon phase! Now if only we could get past the barf phase.
It is good to hear that Campbell's a keeper. I never had my doubts. She has made such great progress and doesn't look too preemie right now! She is a beautiful baby and I have enjoyed having you share her life with the rest of us. It makes my day when I see something posted from Campbell.
Love
Cousin Susan
Looks like Campbell is thinking, "don't wake me up or I'll punch you out!" She is a precious girl! We love our baby niece/cousin! (Jacob is always concerned about her sleep status, so I can't wait to show him this video!)
