Weight Loss Wednesday

This is my sister, Sara, and her new fiance, John. Why do I start this post with their picture? Look how skinny they are...they don't need "Weight Loss Wednesday"... Well, they just got engaged (a huge CONGRATULATIONS to them!) and will be getting married on New Year's Eve. Yep, in about 3 and a half months, I will have to squeeze into a bridesmaid's dress. So, my kinda-trying-to-lose-weight-but-still-eating-oreos diet plan has got to shift into hyper-drive.

Last week I posted about the Couch to 5K beginning running program (see it here). A big part of why I have stuck with it is the Facebook group I created and posting my runs on Facebook so that my friends can keep me accountable and encourage me.

With that thought in mind, Robbie and I will be creating and participating in a Weight Loss Wednesday check in here on the Compton Corner. Each week we will post weight loss updates, our struggles and successes, and any tips we've learned during the week (I reserve the right to change this check in as needed).

If you are trying to lose weight, I'd love to include you in our check ins! Just weigh today (or tomorrow morning) and starting next week, let me know your goal, how much you lost and your struggles and successes, etc. If you have any ideas on how we can make this check in better, please let me know! I'm open to suggestions.

By the way, I weighed myself this morning for the first time in over 2 years...probably closer to 3 years. Yikes. (Nun'ya bizness) I'll post how much I lose but I hope no one ever finds out where I started.

Check In
Martha:
Goal: 30 lbs by New Year's Eve
Weight loss: n/a

Robbie:
Goal: 40lbs by New Year's Eve
Weight loss: n/a

I hope to lose at least 8 pounds by next Tuesday when Liam comes out :) I might join the check-in after he is born. Also wanted to let you know that I am also very annoyed that I can't wear makeup to my c-section, for heaven's sakes at least some mascara and lip balm!

I'll get back to you on the weight loss thing in a couple of months. For now I'll be gaining a pound a week-yuck. Bring on the breast feeding (aka instant weight loss)!

30 pounds must be the magic number. That is exactly what the doctor told me I need to lose when I was there on Tuesday. Lifestyle change is in effect starting Monday, September 20th!! Good luck Martha and Robbie!

I could stand to 30 also, but that seems so overwhelming to me. But I can try! I'll mark my calendar to weigh in tomorrow. I also resolve to go for a walk when the kids get up this afternoon.

Shana, just wear your make-up. It's not like they'll make you take it off! They don't make women who start out laboring and end up in a c/s remove theirs! You want to look pretty for those pictures!

You can do it!! I will be your coach if needed since I can't start any weight loss program right now- I am curious to see what the scale says though after delivering this 9 lb 10 oz bundle of joy :) Good luck!!

I need to lose 30 as well, but I want to lose 40. With that large of a number, I doubt I can do it by NYE, but count me in. I hope having some accountability will make this attempt stick. I'll make my deadline Feb 2nd...Groundhog Day!
