First let me say, if you just began reading this blog, you might want to skip down to the post from last night titled: "by my birthday or leap day" so you can catchup.
Anyway, because of all the wonderful news that we received last night, the doctor went ahead and ordered Martha an Ambein to help her sleep. That's on top of the benadryl she took around 10:30 (pre news). Well, around midnight the nurse came in with the Ambein, and Martha's first steroid shot. Within 15 minutes she was out. Not so much for me . . . I finally fell asleep at 1:30 and I remember my last thought being, "well, 2 and a half hours before they come in to do her BP and to take some blood."
I woke up around 5:30 this morning thinking that I must have slept through the testing (feeling pretty guilty that I slept through it). Then we get a knock on the door and it's the tech who was going to take Martha's blood. She comes in and announces who she was and that the other nurse will be bringing us our baby in just a minute . . . WHAT I SLEPT THROUGH THE DELIVERY TOO!? Needless to say, no baby, she just assumed everyone on our floor are "new mothers." Come to find out, our nurse put a note on the door asking the staff to come in at 5:30, instead of 4am, so Martha could get an extra hour of sleep.

Our thoughts and prayers are with y'all! My two cents, from a former NICU Mommy...Richland is a state of the art facility, the nurses and doctors were the best. We wanted to be closer to home and moved to CMC...and well, we met great people but we should have stayed where we were and regretted the move. Just my thoughts! No matter where you go you will have lots of support. Please let me know if I can help in any way (I have been there and will help anyway I can)! We are praying for all three of you...Nichole and Joseph
Martha,
Before we head out for bowling I wanted to let you know that you, Robbie and Campbell will continue to be in my prayers. I am so sorry you are having trouble but it sounds like you are in very good hands with Robbie by your side and a good medical team . You know that your Finley Road Family is here for you if you need anything! We miss you here!
Love, Diane Duncan
Robbie and Martha:
Jay and I have you and the baby in our thoughts and prayers. Do you need any magazines or other things that might help make your stay at the hospital better? I will be glad to bring anything to you.
Tracie
Robbie, Martha and Campbell-
Patrick, Anna and I are thinking and praying for you. Selfishly we would love for you to be at Richland so we can come visit often. But it's important for you to go where you two are going to be cared for best. I'm sure this must be SO difficult for you, but try to keep those spirits up knowing that you have friends and family here to support you. Robbie-when/if you get a chance, stop by to see Patrick at work. I'll have a care package for Martha ready tomorrow. Any special requests? Favorite treats? Remember to ask all of us for things you want and need. We love ya'll!
Heather
