One day in the womb is two days not in NICU

The doctor just left and things haven't changed too much. He did speak with the MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist) from Presbyterian and they feel that we're still in a "holding pattern" and that we'll go from test result to test result. There is no magic number that we reach before they move us . . . but he feels that the move will be by the weekend and that the delivery probably isn't too far behind.
I have learned about what the "protein" issue is . . . protein in the urine is an indication that there is kidney problem. Right now we're sitting with 1.8 grams of protein which is not too bad, but it's not good (.4grams is normal) Once we hit the 5 grams . . . well, that's pretty bad damage to the kidney and numbers like that will probably mean they start considering inducing.
The doctor did that every day that we keep the baby in the womb is two days out of NICU so we're now on a day by day basis.

Martha,

I just wanted you to know you are close in my thoughts and prayers.
This is giving me flashbacks to when I did it for my girls. It is wonderful you got the steroid shot and it will be in your system for awhile.
I know keeping things as peaceful as possible for you is very important but if I can do anything let me know. Or if you want to talk to someone that has been there tell me and I can call.
The power of prayer is amazing and you are in mine!

I didn't know you were having such a hard time until I asked about you in the sped meeting last week. I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Keep your thoughts positive, I know it is hard with all the knowledge between you two.
I talked to a lady in Lowes the other day that will be keeping teachers kids next year, she is expecting as well. She asked if I needed childcare seeing my school shirt and I told her no but I had a friend that might be interested. After I got her name, number and other info we came to the conclusion that you all had already met, what a small world. Anyway, I'll be checking on you and please let me know if there is anything I can do, I owe you from last year.
