This is my 5th check in for March for Babies, Run for Dimes. I'm sorry it's been a while since my last check in...things have been busy in the Compton household! I am proud to say that until this past week when I got a cold that settled into my chest, I have been very consistent with my running. Although I haven't been able to increase my distance as much as I would like, I have been doing at least 2 miles 3 times per week.
I am really excited about some adjustments I've made to my plan. As I mentioned above, I've been having a hard time increasing my distance. I believe a lot of that is mental but I'm working on it. I had to come to terms that I wouldn't be able to run a 10k by April 2nd for the Bridge Run and with our efforts for March Money-saving Madness, I had a hard time justifying the expense of that race. When a friend mentioned a women's mini-triathlon that will be in Rock Hill this summer, I got very excited for several reasons. 1- It's much more wallet-friendly since I don't need a hotel room, 2-I'd only have to run 2 miles which I know I can do (granted it's after swimming 250 yards and biking 10 miles), and 3- how cool will it be to be able to say I did a triathlon?! So, I've decided I will be training for this. I will still be running so you guys can continue to support me and the March of Dimes and I will just be adding biking and swimming to my training.
I started biking a couple of weeks ago and have a couple of helpers for some resistance training :)
And, as always, here is why I'm running:
Thanks for your support!

I just want to make sure that I am reading the ticker correctly...at this point, is my donation for Robbie only $0.42? If so, I may need to up that one.
