I've mentioned before that I am going to be doing a women's mini-triathlon this summer. Today officially begins my 8 week count down.
So, here is how the mini-triathlon works: it's a 250 yard swim, a 10 mile bike ride, and a 2 mile run. I have been slacking a bit on my running recently but have gone on several bike rides and walks with the girls.
I sat down with Robbie this evening and scheduled my workouts (basing it loosely on this training schedule). We recently joined our YMCA so I can have access to a pool and childcare.
Here is my workout schedule for the week:
Monday: bike ride with the family- 30 minutes
Tuesday: swim- 500 yards
Wednesday:run- 30 minutes
Thursday: swim- 500 yards
Friday: run- 30 minutes
Saturday: bike ride with the family- 30 minutes
Sunday: rest
I will be flexible with this schedule due to weather...BUT I will not skip a day. I have no excuse since we joined the YMCA. Even if it's a run day and it's pouring outside, I can still go there and use their childcare...hopefully Maggie will be agreeable to this idea...

Remind me which tri you are doing...we've got several around here and I've thought about doing one (with a team maybe). We've got several friend who compete regularly. Good luck with training! PS We're joining our Y tomorrow!!
