Mini-Triathlon Training Update Week 1

I just finished my first week of training for my mini-triathlon.  Literally just finished...I just got in from my run a few minutes ago.  I am so proud of myself!  I did not skip a day and in fact did a little extra each day (except for one bike ride day because Maggie was screaming so the bike ride was a few minutes short that day but I made up for it on the other bike ride day).  I did have to switch my schedule and take my rest day on Friday due to a busy schedule, but I made up that workout today.

I feel so much more comfortable with the idea of this mini triathlon now that I've done this week. I'm not great at any of these sports (especially the running), but I'm not terrible either.

I've learned a few things this week about triathlon training:
-wear sunglasses when biking...even if it's not sunny...gotta protect my eyes from bugs! Wish I could protect my mouth and nose somehow...
-Nike makes an athletic tankini!  Yay!  I sure was happy to find it...I just wish it had a skirt (not really but kinda).
-I need to use goggles when swimming.  My eyes were burning!
-The swimming workouts alone aren't long enough to be worth the effort to go to the gym so I will be adding either running or biking in the gym for at least 15 minutes this next week.

Here is the tentative schedule for my workouts this week:
Monday- Biking 30 minutes
Tuesday- Swim 550 yards (plus an added 15 minutes biking/running)
Wednesday- Swim 550 yards (plus an added 15 minutes biking/running)
Thursday- Run 30 minutes
Friday- Rest Day
Saturday- Biking 30 minutes
Sunday- Run 30 minutes
