Baby Madness . . . . baby!
Check out the extension! That's 15.25 inches . . . and growing! Campbell had a pretty good night. Martha hung out with her all day. The doctors decided to give her another blood transfusion. As I mentioned earlier, when Campbell was born, she only had 1.5 ounces of blood in her. Well, her little bone marrow is working as hard as it can (for being premature), and it's not able to keep up with her demands, so they are going to give her some more blood tonight (as we speak). It's coming from the same batch as the last blood that they gave her so we know it's going to be accepted by her body. What's this going to mean . . . she'll be stronger and able to handle more. As a matter of fact, we think this blood that they are going to give her will help her breathe and get off the CPAP quicker.
On to the baby madness . . . baby . . . . we are at the point of Campbell's life at the NICU that they are starting to mention words like . . . moving to special care or . . . going home. So in the spirit of March Madness . . . . Martha and I would like to (okay, mostly me) kick off the season with "Baby Madness". What is Baby Madness you ask . . . it's where you get the chance to guess the day/time that Martha, Campbell, and I walk out of the front doors of the hospital. I'm not 100% sure how I'm going to do this . . . but by Sunday, I will. I do need your help though . . . if you can go vote on the right of the screen for Baby Madness Options. One more thing . . . during this, Martha and I will give to you all the information that we receive as we get closer to the "coming home" day. Up to the point, here is what we know . . . . they shoot for getting the babies home by there due date (Campbell's due date was April 28). However, with micro-preeemies, they can usually get home before the due date. That's all the information that we have at this point.
Go vote (to the right) and let us know what you think . . .

Good morning Campbell, before you leave the hospital you will be a celebrity! I am so glad that you are doing so well. I know you had fun hanging out with your mommy. Julia was sick yesterday and she just hung out with me at my office, so you girls were doing about the same things. I just love it when your daddy writes about you. I think he has fallen madly in love with his pint size daughter. Have a great day and be sweet.
Love
Cousin Susan
