Who's out there?

We have really enjoyed writing this blog and sharing our journey with all of you. It's amazing to look back on our first few posts and see how far we've come. Yesterday we were sharing the pictures and posts of Campbell from the first days to a nurse and she started tearing up. Even for someone who sees this every day, she was touched by the miracle that is Campbell.

We hear almost every day from people who enjoy reading the blog. We even hear about people we've never met who check on Campbell every day. We can't begin to express our gratitude for all of the prayers, thoughts, and encouragement that you all have given us.

We are curious about who is out there reading this blog. This post is special because we are asking all of you to leave Campbell a comment. We think she would be amazed one day to read about all of the people who were checking on her and caring for her. So, please let us know who you are, where you live, and if we don't know you personally, please let us know how you joined our blog "family".

We can't wait to read these comments!

Thank you!

Hi Campbell!
I started reading your blog after I saw a post by your parents on Heather Kelly's (and Anna's) blog.
I check in on you, Anna, and a few other friends once or twice a day - whenever my kids give me the chance to sit down at the computer ;)
I know that your Mommy and Daddy are so proud of your progress. Every time I read about how well you are doing, I am amazed by God's goodness.
I'm praying for you, your family, and your caregivers. I know that your parents want you home soon - remember to be good to them once you get there!

Patrick, Anna and I have enjoyed checking in on your progress every day. We love seeing your pictures, especially since they show how much you have grown. Anna thinks you are really cool because you were born only 11 days after she was and it was her original due date. We know you will both be good friends. Thanks for letting us see what's going on with you and for keeping your daddy busy. Love, Heather

Dear Campbell,
What a lucky and loved little girl you are. Louisa, Blair and I watch you grow every day. Louisa knows a little bit of what you are going through. We are so amazed at the Lord's work when we look at your sweet smiling face. You are a fighter. We can't wait to have you come to the beach for a play date next summer. We will continue to pray for you and your mom and dad especially when you come home!

Campbell, Of course you've heard a lot from me and my husband Jon and even though he's never met your family,... I had the great priviledge of knowing your mommy and Aunt JuJu well when they were roomies in Charleston SC with Jackie Mendes Baer. We had such fun times together and your Aunt Julie sent Jon and I an e-mail about your birth and asked us to pray for you and your mommy. We were really worried about both of you and prayed really hard that God would heal your momma and keep you growing and safe..... and He did!! We are Christians and believe God has a reason for everything (even when people get sick), but are so thankful that he wanted you and your mama to be OK and healthy. You are beautiful and now that we have thought of you so often, it will be quite hard to stop hearing even more about you and your family in the coming days. We hope you all stay in touch with this blog thing and keep us posted often if not daily as you have been. God Bless You!! and Love- Amy and Jonathan Nelson, stationed in Newport RI.

Hello Baby Campbell!

I know your Aunt JuJu and Uncle Dean...We have been friends for a long time and as soon as we heard you may be joining the world sooner than expected we jumped into prayer for you! Now, we are addicted to your site and reading all the updates :) I have two little ones myself (a boy and a girl) and another little girl due in August. I am so thankful to God that He has provided such good care to you in the hospital. Every child is a gift and I am so thankful that you are so healthy and so ready to go home soon with your mommy and daddy. I do hope they continue to keep us updated because like I said, I am so addicted :) Continuing to pray for you as you grow!

Dear Campbell,

I check in on your progress everyday and pray for you often! I am a Mommy to a 26 week little girl who weighed 1lb, 6.8 oz at birth. I am friend with Ann Theriot who once lived near you. My little girl spent 119 days in the NICU and Special Care unit. We felt like she would never go home...it was especially hard watching her due date come and go while she was still in the hospital. Breathing and eating were her biggest struggles...as a matter of fact, 10 weeks after we brought her home, we had to admit her as a failure to thrive and she now has a g-tube(she is 2-1/2 and is 50% tube fed). I tell you all this because as much as a miracle as my precious girl is...you have really blown me away! You have done better than any little micro-preemie that I have known. I am truly humbled at what God has done in you! Never ever doubt God's love for you! As I tell my little girl...God has big plans for you! Your life is a testimony of God's faithfulness!!! You have also been a huge encouragement to me. As we are praying about having more children, God has used your amazing progress to encourage us! You have wonderful parents you have cared enough to write all about your journey! I hope it will be a wonderful treasure for you!!!

God Bless,

Hi Martha, Robbie and Campbell,
My name is Carrie Seekings, and i am good friends with your cousin Beth Windell. I met you (Martha) at one of Beths baby showers. I am addicted to your blog, I check it every day. I am pregnant with my 5th and my children love to see how big Campbell is! They really liked the wedding band picture. A friend of mine down at my work in the ER, was pregnant with twins and had to deliver early.... before she delivered she saw your blog and what you were going thru, and it really helped her prepare. One of her babies is home and one is NICU.
We pray for Campbell, and love to see how you are doing.

Watching you grow and seeing your parent's faith has inspired me greatly. It makes me appreciate life so much more. You just live up the road from me,so I hope your mommy and daddy will not mind if I bring Julia to see you once in awhile. That is after you grow some. We all love you and can not wait to see you in person. Thanks again for letting me share this part of your life.

Hello Campbell!
I began reading your blog when your Dad contacted me to tell me he would not be on time turning in his assignments for the graduate class I was teaching. I have followed your progress ever since (and yes, your Dad finally finished his course!)
I have two beautiful teenage daughters and plan on giving your Mom and Dad lots of dating advice when the time comes.
In the most recent post a nurse cried when she saw your early pictures and I have to admit I emailed your Dad to say I too cried when I watched a video that showed his wedding ring on your arm. I feel as if I am blessed just knowing the special you that you are.

Hi Campbell-
I met your mom when we worked together at Rice Creek in Columbia. At the time I had a baby that came a little early and do you know who was a HUGE help to me when I was still "visiting" my baby in the NICU? Your mom. She is a special one. Anyway I think your dad is pretty special too. You are blessed in so many ways. I am addicted to your blog and share it often with my family and friends. We all love to see your progress and are all praying and cheering for you.
SPECIAL WARNING FOR MOM AND DAD- Reagan turned four last week and you know all that "fiestiness" that is coming in so handy now- Well it doesn't go away and sometimes at the ages of three and four it can be a bit annoying :)
Enjoy your sweet baby girl now!

Dear Campbell,
Since I'm not very computer savvy, I'm sending this to your mother. I am your 80 year old great, great aunt on your mother's side of the family. I have followed your progress on your Compton Corner blog and am delighted to learn that you're gaining weight and will soon get to go home. You are a very blessed little girl to have your Mommy and Daddy for your parents. They are wonderful, loving people .They've been so kind to other people's children, and I've always thought that they should have some of their own. And now they have YOU !! I know that they feel blessed, too.
I don't know why they chose the name, "Campbell", for you, but it is a family name. My mother, who would be your great, great grandmother, was Fanny Bell Campbell before she married my father, so it's a good name.
I hope that i will be able to meet you this summer when we gather for our family reunion. Stay healthy, and gain some more pounds, and I'll count on seeing you then.
Much love to you.

Hey Campbell,
I guess by now, you've figured out...DAD is a LOON! But really, you're a very lucky little girl to have such a great mom and dad. I work with your dad, which is sometimes hard to do, since he tends to be a bit distracting at times. I'm really happy that you're going to be growing up, so he has someone to play with. He really needs some playtime when he's not at work! Maybe you can help him with his jumpshot and dribbling skills. He needs to work on his air time. He has such large weights at the end of his legs, it's hard for him to get much of a vertical leap. But, I'm sure you'll teach him a lot very soon! :D
Sincerely,
Shelley

Hi Guys! I am Shelby Scott, a friend of Julie's from Church. It seems that we share the same story, good and bad, seeing that we got pregnant around the same time. We prayed for your safe pregnancy in Sunday School all while I was secretly pregnant and hadn't shared with the class yet. I felt a connection to you then, and continued to think of you throughout my pregnany. Then, when Campbell was born, I was so concerned for you. WHo would know that less than a month later, I would be hospitalized with preeclampsia at 30 weeks and my son Will would be born at 31 weeks on March 10 - two months before his May 11 due date. Now he is a NICU baby here in VA and I have kept up with Campbell's progressith knowledge of what all the terms mean - Brady's, A's and B's, CPAP, etc. So, I am excited this morning to learn that you will be rooming in this weekend. I hope you guys continue to progress though feedings and that all goes well to stay on schedule - no more Brady's! I look forward to hearing your continued updates, and this weekend seems to be Will's time to almost go home too. God is good and our families are blessed! I will remember you in our prayers.

Hi Campbell,

Well--the whole family keeps in touch with you and your parents. Evan, Jillian, Andy and I love to see your pictures. I make sure I get my daily Campbell update through talking to your parents too and I share it with our co-workers. I work with your Daddy and his quirky self. I am sure he will teach you all about the mail system one day---maybe even write you a little book about it since it is one of his special interest areas!

It is just amazing how strong, resilient and positive you are already; I guess it makes sense considering who your parents are. A lesson we can all learn from them is that positivity (like theirs) creates more positive situations. You probably feel it already!

I was so fortunate to be able to see you in the hospital when you were only a few days old and have had a hard time not being able to check on you in person---my Mommy sense. We so look forward to getting to know you and to the many play dates we plan to have with you! Jillian (only 5 months older than you) and Evan can't wait to meet you in person. We plan to see you soon when you are home.

Hello Miss Campbell,
I just wanted to say how happy I am for you that you are in your own home. My sister Amy is very good friends of your Mom's. My niece Louisa also had to stay in her "condo" for a little while, but she enjoys being at home even better.I have been praying a lot for you, along withso have many others, and now our prayers have been answered. You are such a strong little girl, that is going to become even stronger by the minute!! I'm just so happy that you are home! love, Joellen
