3lbs 6oz

Somehow I've gained 5 ounces in two days . . . that can't be right? Could it be from the "beef cake 2000" that they are adding to my feedings? (it only adds 2 extra calories to the 20 calories in 1 ounce of milk) Could it be from the fact that I'm up to 16.2 ml of milk every 3 hours? Or could it be from the extra fluid that is being retained in my body? (See the picture of my puffy leg.) The doctors seem to think that it is the fluid so they are giving me lasics (no, not the eyes surgery) to help the get rid of it. It's kind of funny . . . after giving me the lasics, I've had the largest (fullest) #1 diaper that I've ever had. It weighed 28g. The doctors said that retaining some fluid is normal after being sick.
So I've had a great few days. I've had some great room air trials up to 3 hours at a time. As a matter of fact, I like room air trials so much, when my nurse isn't looking, I like to take my CPAP (or CRAP as I like to call it) apart and off my face (see first picture). It's so much nicer to breathe without that thing in my nose. It's the second time today that I did my own room air trial. In fact, I did so well on my own trial, that the nurse just let me keep it off. Check out the video of me looking around...I can see so much more without all that stuff on my face!
I've had some great nurses today (and over the past three days). My daytime nurse is Anna and I really like her. My nighttime nurse is Courtney. I really like her too. I'm secretly hoping that both of them become my newest primaries. I hope my parents take them some Nanny Cake to help convince them.
I did get to see my daddy again which was nice. I think my parents are going to send out a new Smilebox real soon. Well, that's it for tonight. I've got to be real quiet and get this thing off my face when Courtney turns around . . . hehe!

She's getting a medicine called "Lasix" and I'd like some too! Water weight is not cool!

When I fist saw your pictures before I read about the water retention I thought "Well, Campbell, you are turning into a Chunky Monkey" It seems like you have to go through so much being a premie, but Campbell you are a real trooper. I am proud of you. I hope that you continue to get better and keep up the weight gain, real weight, not fluid. I am glad you got to see your daddy, I bet he was glad to see you. Be a good girl and don't be sneaking around with your tubes too much. I am so glad that your breathing times have gotten longer, but please wait on the nurses to do that.

Campbell, You don't look like the same baby you did 4 weeks ago. You have grown and grown and grown. I'm coming up this Saturday to see you, so get plenty of rest and keep getting healthier. I'm so proud of you and your mommy and daddy. You make a beautiful family and pretty soon you are going to get to go home and sleep in your own bed. You don't know what you are missing, but as soon as you hit your own bed, you will know that is "home sweet home". Be a good little girl, leave your tubes alone so you can keep your nurses happy. I love you so very much and what a blessing from God you are!!!
