I Graduated

Today was a great day. I have graduated from the bubble c-pap to an oxygen nasal cannula. They tried a room air trial today (without anything in my nose) and I didn't do too good. I had several apnea episodes so they moved me to an oxygen nasal cannula at 1pm and I've stayed on it ever since. They have had to move me to 23% oxygen, but that's okay because once I get used to this new breathing apparatus, I'll quickly go back to 21%. Nurse Kelley did tell my mommy and daddy that I might have to go back on the CPAP because I have had a few apnea episodes tonight, but they are still really proud that I've made it this long on my first try!
Today is also my last day at .6ml of my mommy's milk. Tomorrow, on Valentine's Day, they are increasing me to 1.2ml. If I do good, then they will keep increasing me .6ml every 12 hours. Speaking of "increasing," I gained 2oz today. So I am officially bigger today than I was when I was born.
Finally, I got my wish today . . . and a lot lot more. Not only did my mom get to hold me for more then 30 minutes, but she (with the help of my great nurse Kelley) bathed me today. That's what the video is of. I'm also able to see a lot better now without that big clunky thing in my nose . . . look how cute I am! That's me in my daddy's hands . . . it's nice that I'm able to be held by my mommy and daddy much more now!

PS I need to give a shout-out to my girl Jillian . . . I didn't mean to leave you off my list of friends from yesterday's post.

Campbell,

I love your pictures! I bet people tell you that you look like your dad all the time. Except you are a much prettier version (sorry Robbie!). Keep doing well so you can come home soon.
