I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that my little girl is a miniature version of Robbie. Luckily, she's pretty darn cute, but I'm kinda jealous. I've been thinking a lot about my friends Jennifer and Adrienne who's little girls (Finley and Emily) look just like their daddies. While those little girls are adorable, I have to wonder if Jennifer and Adrienne wish, just a little, that their babies looked a little more like them. I also am trying to figure out what a teenage girl version of Robbie looks like....hmmm, maybe our next prayer request should be about this... Just kidding, of course!
Anyway, more seriously, I just talked to the nurse a little while ago and Campbell is having a good morning. The Dr. changed her breathing stuff again and now she's on a little lower flow cannula for 3 hours and then the CPAP for 9 hours. Her little nose is getting a sore from the CPAP so the 3 hours should be a good break for it to heal a little bit. I am still so impressed that at 2 pounds, she's off the CPAP at all. She's so tiny that it's amazing that she is so strong!

You can't even imagine how much I wish Emily looked a little more like me. I always just assumed if I had a daughter she would be like a little "mini-me" since I look so much like my mom. WRONG! Emily looks more like Katie Holmes than me - I am still obsessed with Emily and Suri Cruise looking a little bit alike. The only thing that even remotely resembles me on Emily are her blue eyes. We also have matching haircuts now (again, my obsession with Katie and Suri). I know when I was younger I looked more like my Dad so I keep holding out hope that eventually people will see me with Emily and say "ya'll look exactly alike!" Who knows? Campbell and Emily are both beautiful even if they don't look exactly like their mommies.
"Lil' Robbie's", I mean Campbell's looks are one thing, but the real concern is the feet. Will you have to order her first pair of shoes on line? Does Robbie's site sell baby shoes too? Just kidding... kind of!
She is adorable and as a mother of a stunningly beautiful baby, if I do say so myself, she can look like her dad if she is going to be as cute as she is!
Hey, look at our men, they both got great catches like us so how can you worry?
She is beautiful and always will be, so stick a bow in "Lil Robbie's" hair as soon as posssible and surround her in pink and people will still ask you if that is a little boy. Especially old people for some reason. Must be the cateracts. You know how girly Finley looks at all times and people ask me all the time!
Enjoy every moment, she will change so much and so fast and soon she will be a little Campbell who looks like a "Lil' Robbie", but acts just like a "Lil' Martha"!
Love ya'll
You are right Martha, she does look like her daddy. I sent your blog to Phillip and that was the first thing he said,"Man she looks just like Robbie"
She is still very pretty and once she grows a little her looks may change some. You are both beautiful people,so who cares who Campbell looks like. "Your" Dad probably thinks she looks like Him!
Im am glad Campbell is doing so good. I just look forward each day reading about her progress.

Hey there -- I know we don't know each other but I came over from the LLL boards and I've been reading ever since.
So good to hear your little girl is doing well!
When they first let me see my daughter well (after they wheeled me out of the op. room) and I looked at her, the first thought in my head was "wow, she looks an awful lot like her daddy".
I'm told that she has a lot of my features now. Give her a few months (my daughter is 8 1/2 months). I bet you she'll start showing some of mama's features then.
Martha,
I totally understand! Everybody says Anna looks like Patrick and every day I examine her closely to see if she has any of me in her. We think Anna has my nose, but other than that Patrick gets all the good comments. I think it's kinda funny that we moms do a lot of hard work (feeding, nurturing, etc.) and we don't even get to claim they look like us. Ohh well, I'm sure they have our lovely temperaments.
