Robbie and I have been thinking a lot in the past few days about Campbell's infection and ways to reduce her chances of future infections. We realize that she is exposed to many germs by just being in the hospital and the only thing we can control in regards to germ exposure are her visitors. Although we have loved having family and friends come meet our beautiful baby girl, we have decided that we are going to limit her visitors to our immediate families. This is just temporary until we (okay, maybe I'm more obsessed about this than Robbie) feel that she is stronger. We know that you will all understand and support us in this. Don't worry, you will all be able to meet her before you know it!
While on the subject of visitors, we also wanted to just give you all a head's up that we have been told that even after Campbell comes home, she will still be extremely vulnerable to germs. This means, unfortunately, we won't be able to take her many places or have visitors in our home for a while. Again, we know that all of you love Campbell and want the best for her health and will understand. This is going to be harder for Robbie and I than all of you because we can't wait to show her off!
Thanks for your love, prayers, and support!
Martha

Hey Campbell sweetie!
I hope you are being a very good girl like we discussed last night. No more scaring the mommy and daddy people!:-)
Please tell your mom and dad thank you for the special "cersee" again. I put the picture you gave me on my frige and was again, very moved by the very sweet gesture as I looked at everything when I got home this morning.
Have a very boring and grow-y week and I'll be checking in on you!
Your nurse,

Martha,
I strongly feel that you are making the right decision concerning visitors. Even healthy newborns do not need to be exposed to very many people when they are first born or come home. Campbell's health is the most important thing right now and in the future. We all want to see her, but that can wait. You and Robbie take care of yourselves so that you can take care of Campbell.

That's perfectly acceptable! Lol, and you will become germ freaks... my preemie is 3 and i have hand sanitzer all over the house still!
When he came home after 3 months in the NICU I would make my husband come home from work, straight into the shower with anti-bacterial body wash so he wasn't bringing germs home to us! It was crazy but it worked for us!
Glad she is continuing to do so well!

We will have plenty of time to play together! Take your time and keep the pictures and blogs coming! We love ya'll!
Everyone will understand! We all want Campbell to be as healthy, strong, and grow-y as she can. And if that means we have to wait a while to see her in person, well, then, Robbie will just have to keep putting adorable pics and video of her on this blog!
Love and germ-free wishes to you all, Beth
