Martha and Robbie are heading home!!

Hello Family and Friends,
I wanted to let you all know that within the hour we'll be in our car heading home. Believe me when I say that we have very mixed emotions . . . . part of us need to be home. It's been a whirlwind 11 days in different rooms (6 in total) with many many different people just walking in our and out of our room throughout the day. Then there is the other part of us that absolutely hate leaving knowing that our pint size princess is being left behind. (left behind in the best care possible) We also recognize that us getting to go home is another step towards bringing Campbell home too!
Today is a big day for our little girl . . . her BP tube comes out of her stomach which means we can now hold her. As a matter of fact, I think Martha can do her first "kangaroo care" session with her tomorrow. The other big event of the day is they are doing the head scan in which they look for brain development and any hemorrhage activity. We should get the results of this test this afternoon. We know everything is going to be okay . . . . with all the prayers being sent our way, what really can go wrong when she's under God's care and hands?
Finally, here are two amazing doctors. The first on is Martha's OB from the hospital who delivered Campbell. Campbell likes to call him Dr. McDreamy, but he goes by Dr. Morris. The second doctor is the neonatalogist (Campbell's doctor) Dr. Rama. He's one of 6 here at the hospital. What's amazing with Dr. Rama is that no matter when and were we see him, he knows our names, he knows Campbell's current stats and he know everything about her . . . . we couldn't ask for any better care!
That's it from Presbyterian Hospital. Our next post will be from the comfort of our home with our two girls who miss us desperately (Norah and Folly). In the great words or Ryan Seacrest . . . "Compton . . . out!"

Please let me know if there is anything we can do for you once you get home. We're thinking about all of you during this time and we are here always. Robbie - I hope you had a great birthday yesterday. You received a fabulous early present on Sunday. Sorry I missed your text message yesterday - I am terrible about keeping my cell phone charged and with me.

We love you all.

What a great thing that you get to do kangaroo care. It is such a special time for you and your litle girl. She looks great. Keep your head and spirits up. The hospital is a great support for you right now-take advantage of it.
Lots of love from The Nichols to you-Leigh Ann (Snipes)
